Position Overview
The award-winning physicians at Lehigh Valley Heart and Vascular Institute are all board-certified, many having served fellowships or received additional training with leading programs. Our expert clinicians utilize continuing medical education to further research and enhance collaboration, leading to better patient outcomes.
This non-surgical position will be responsible for the care and management of cardiothoracic surgical patients in the Transitional Open Heart (TOHU) step down unit, such as:
- Work in conjunction with the attending cardiothoracic surgeon, and non-surgical providers, for medical care of cardiothoracic surgical patients.
- Perform initial evaluation, history, and physical examination of all assigned patients.
- Perform daily assessment and formulate plan of care for all assigned patients and direct admissions.
- Complete patient discharge on all assigned patients.
- Responsible for the care of all postoperative patients in our TOHU step down unit.
- Participate in ongoing education, quality, and research projects.
- Contribute to service-related databases as indicated.
- Participate in education of patients and families during their inpatient course.
- Day shift position with no call requirements.

Qualifications
- Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified
- A Valid Pennsylvania Medical License or ability to obtain one is required
- Completion, or upcoming graduation from a CRNP program for acute care.
